Lindsey
By Shirley R. Fluharty

As little girls get olderr
It seems like overnight
When yesterday a baby
Held in my arms so tight
Then years pass by
Oh how they fly
As 'cross the floor she'll dart
Then look up into my tear filled eyes
And touch a grandma's heart
And soon we're making cookies
To share with one and all
As well we're making memories
In her apron standing tall
Then a tune upon the piano
As she touches each key in place
And we sing some of my favorites
"Ill fly away" and "Amazing Grace"
Now the violin her favorite
And she plays with so much class
Bach, Beetevon' is what she chooses
While the audience is aghast
But to me she's just an angle
Who God sent to fill my days
And for all these years I've loved this one
So much and in so many ways.

Lily, Lily
By Shirley R. Fluharty

Lily, Lily fresh and sweet
Tiny hands and tiny feet
Wears a smile from ear to ear
Always keeps her Momma near

Lily, Lily fresh and sweet
More grown up each time we meet
Walks with gentleness devine
Glad this precious child is mine

Lily, Lily fresh and sweet
Personality hard to beat
Love sincere from deep within
Makes me happy I am kin.

Madeline is a special name
We love her don't you see
The M is for Magnificent
In all the world she'd be
The A an Angel sent to us
With blessings from our Jesus
And D the Darling child she'll be
Sent here to us to please us
E is Every Little smile
And all the cutest faces
And L the Love she'll share with us
To fill our hearts embraces
I is for the Image
She one day will proclaim
N will show the Newness
For her life won't be the same
And E the Everlasting life
That Jesus Christ will bring
To Madeline, His chosen one
God's glory do we sing

Taysa
By Shirley R. Fluharty

A visitor from a foreign land
Speaks in Russian doesn't understand
Smiles at you to say okay
Frowns to let you know no way
Points to show the moon so bright
Lighting up the darkened night
Words flow freely from her lips
A smile and nod is all she gets
Her fingers reach to touch your face
This little girl from a foreigh place
Your only hope is that she'll know
You try so hard to love her so
You try to speak her language too
So she will feel at home with you
And make a bonding oh so strong
Impress her life that lasts so long
A love that she'll forever know
She'll take with her where ere she goes
A grandchild soon one day she'll be

Jacob, My Grandson
By Shirley R. Fluharty

Jacob my grandson
So special to me
Quite handsome to look at
And sweet as can be

"Much time must be taken"
God said, of this lad
"For if  he's to serve me
Great love he must have"

So He gave him great portions
Of kindness and love
Now I know that my Jesus
Keeps watch from above

And I'm thankful dear Lord
That this life we can share
With a grandson like Jacob
There are blessings to spare.

Jason Boone

Jason
By Shirley R. Fluharty

Many years have come and gone
And now the day is here
When Jason grew into a man
This one that I hold dear
When just a babe he knew just how
To reach into your heart
And hold on tight until you knew
He loved you from the start
He never let his brother
Get far out of his sight
For he loved and watched big brother
From morning until night
At sports, he was amazing
In soccer from age four
He played with all the gusto
For me a goal he'd score
And now as he is older
He's special as can be
And I'm so blessed a grandson
God sent to watch over me.

Millie Fluharty

Millie
By Shirley R. Fluharty

Millie, Millie oh so sweet
Keeps no shoes upon her feet
Dressed in style from head to toe
Yet one shoe on as off she goes
She crawls across the floors with ease
Two hands, two feet,  not on her knees
A precious smile from ear to ear
Her destination is quite clear
She stops ..a glance across her shoulder
Last week a baby, now seems much older
Her momma reads her favorite book
She turns the page to take a look
And quietly now she cuddles near
Her thumb and balnkee she holds dear
As mom and pappa settle down
She sleeps the night without a frown
Millie, Millie,Oh so sweet
The time we've had, just can't be beat.

Hoggan Thomas
By Shirley R. Fluharty

A little boy was sent to us
His stay was oh so short
His strength was quite miraculous
As the doctors did report
We saw his little hands and feet
Move quickly to and fro
As he moved with the comforts of
Mom's tummy where he could grow
He surely must be special
Our Hoggan Thomas dear
For we never got to know him
Then Jesus said "Come here"
"I know that they would love you
More that anyone I know
But I need you here beside Me
So I can watch you grow."
