Drummer Was A Good Ole' Dog
By Shirley R. Fluharty
Drummer
was a good old dog
A friend both tried and true
When he came to our family
Was cute as any we knew
He'd take a
nap on my big purse
And run and play awhile
He sure did love attention
And he knew how to make us smile
I remember planting flowers
As fast as I could go
And right behind was Drummer
Digging at them row by row
And then one day a brother came
Into our family
A little long haired daschound
Frankie, cute as he could be
He loved to chase and play with Drum
And show his youthful stuff
And Drum would kind of pamper him
Until he'd had enough
And as our Drum got older
He'd stand and shake his head
For Frank was full of energy
Our Drum just went to bed
Oh we'll miss our little Drummer
But great memories we'll share
For if there'd be a doggie heaven
I know our Drum is there
